Cortovisioni Collective
DEVELOP A CONCEPT FOR A SHORT FILM AND THEN BRING YOUR VISION TO LIFE BY FILMING WITH PROFESSIONAL EQUIPMENT AND THE EXPERTISE OF INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS.
THE WORKSHOP IS DIVIDED INTO THREE PHASES.
PRE-PRODUCTION
Participants receive instructions on how to write a screenplay for a short film. A casting is organized, a selection process for actors for specific roles. The participants will have the opportunity to record and simulate a casting, taking on different roles such as cameraman and sound engineer, divided into groups. In this phase, the use of cameras, tripods, microphones, lenses, and clapperboards is introduced.
Following that, the screenplay is being developed, incorporating the selected actors for the film. Filming locations are currently being chosen, a storyboard is being drawn, and the division into film departments is underway to ensure everything is prepared for the filming.
PRODUCTION
During the shooting of the short film, participants will be divided into various film departments, each responsible for a different role (cinematography, sound, set design, costumes, makeup).
This experience offers them the opportunity to closely learn every aspect of the filmmaking process and gain practical skills on how to shoot a short film.
In particular, they will have the chance to observe the director’s direction with the actors and other involved departments up close, and later they will have the opportunity to direct some scenes on their own, experiencing the magical moments of a film set.
POST-PRODUCTION
During post-production, participants learn video editing, audio editing, color correction, special effects, subtitling, and review of the short film.
Through this process, they acquire fundamental skills for producing a professional short film.
Post-production is indeed the magic stage in the creation of a short film. It goes beyond mere editing; it’s about capturing the rhythm of the narrative and ensuring that the story comes to life on screen. The meticulous work in post-production, including sound design, visual effects, and pacing adjustments, transforms raw footage into a captivating and cohesive cinematic experience
